PHILIES LIVE: Putin Live: ‘We must stop the violence’

PHILADELPHIA — The Russian President’s office has released a statement that was released Monday morning to mark the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War I.

The statement, released in English and Russian, said the United States has committed “inhumane acts” in its pursuit of war in the Middle East, and that Russia has stood “with the oppressed peoples of the world.”

The statement added that the US is attempting to “destabilize” the Middle Eastern region, with its support of terrorist groups and support for Israel.

The President’s statement also said that the “war against terrorism” is a threat to the United Nations, the world’s largest peacekeeping organization, and said the UN has to protect its peacekeepers, who “are working under the threat of war.”
